The résumé is a document that contains a summary or listing of relevant job experience and education, primarily for the purpose of obtaining an interview when seeking employment. While numerous templates and formats exist, there is no one standard way of creating a résumé. Potential employers, however, often will have basic expectations of what elements are present within a résumé, which is often determined by trends in their field/s.
The current trend of résumé writing is to gear the document towards the experience and education required for the applied position. This type of résumé is often called a "targeted résumé."
