Image-based portfolio contain still images such as photographs, drawings, illustrations, blueprints, designs and other such media. Common examples would include Fashion Books, Print Books or Mini-Books. Image-based portfolios are often used by painters, sculptors, advertisers, architects, fashion designers, product designers, illustrators and graphic designers. They are also used by event planners, actors, dancers and other professionals who rely on a picture as much as, if not more, than a thousand words

Increasingly image-based portfolio are housed within Web-based portfolios.
