Bio
From Portfolio Center
An artist's bio, short for biography, provides a concise, 1-4 paragraph summary of the artist's personal and professional background. Often included in a portfolio, the bio serves to provide some (however small) context for the artist's previous work and possible future directions.
While an artist's statement will focus on the artist's short (and sometimes long) term goals and artistic intention, the artist's bio will generally explain the artist's background and possibly their previous sources and sites of inspiration.

Writing a Bio While this article specifically refers to bios for musicians and dancers, the questionnaire provided gives a good list of opening considerations; anyone should feel free to use it.
